Peppy Peas

Fresh green peas are almost everybodys favorite. They usually come in winters in India and the gastronomical pangs best trigger the culinary innovation in those days, especially for warm spicy hot dishes. There used to many dishes my mother used to make with fresh peas. Some included, Poori (fried bread), Kachori (A sort of fried croissant), Kadhi (Buttermilk amalgamated with gram flour and a thick paste of fresh green pea beads) or just fry those beads with cummin seeds, chopped green/red chillies and garnish with freshly chopped dhaniya(corainder leaves), grated coconut and lemon juice. I did a lot of such experiments in my appartment while I was in UK.

Peppy Peas was one such, my non Indian colleagues usually kept distance with my preparations thinking its too spicy and oily. But then the taste is such that you dont mind getting spoilt :P

Oh by the way this was a Sunday morning Indian breakfast on a chilly English morning. Served with piping hot Indian Masala Chai (Tea boiled with milk, and flavored by crushed/grated ginger, clove buds, cardamom and cinnamon)
