This little cattie was flaunting its exuberant colors on a leaf in my garden. How beautiful an insect. After a lot of random googling I think it is a Cecropia Caterpillar in 5th Stage :D It may not be the most accurate description of this cattie.

@Nicole: My sister found it crawling on our garden spray pipe. It was so strikingly beautiful. But the pipe was an ugly background for this gorgeous :D I got it to a big washed leaf :) raised it to sunlight and took the shot. Although the original image was somewhat bigger and had other objects in frame so I cropped it to highlight the lil hero :D
My goodness!!! All the details are in place and the colours.....oh!.....looks like a piece of jewelry! You make it appear attractive and interesting..........well, let's forget about the reality! Gabriela

@Japanalia: I had seen many caterpillars before this but none so beautiful and colorful. It was absolutely gorgeous. Am sure it would turn out to be some beautiful butterfly someday :P

so lovely a creation of the almighty... and most people would react to a caterpillar as "ugh!!"... anyways thanks to people like you the world appreciates the beauty pf these oft neglected things, too...
